37a. Anchorage, AK to Kokomo, IN; July 8-28, 2014

And so we went to church and office goodbye parties.  And we packed.

We spent a few nights at the Anchorage Residence Inn as I finished up outprocessing the base.  Then, we drove north to Denali.

The majestic views and cool weather were perfect.  We spent two days at the park, hiking and learning.

We then made our way to Fairbanks and North Pole, AK.  Z and I got an Alaska Baseball League game and shared a frosty from Wendy’s.  We got an ornament and a picture with Santa at the exceedingly kitschy Christmas store.

We then drove into the Yukon Territory.  We stayed in a run-down motel, saw a bear, and stopped at wretched public toilets to help Z’s potty training.

And we made it back into the US, in Haines, AK; hours early for our ferry.  We went grocery shopping and read books at the library.  We went back to the docks and prepared to board.
