On April 2, we went to Monticello. The kids appreciated it much more than the first time we went. They noticed the ice house, ran on the grounds, and dug in the dirt.
We left Charlottesville on April 3, Good Friday. We ate lunch at KFC and drove to Shenandoah National Park. The day was beautiful and we spent most of it hiking through the trees and rock walls.
We continued our drive north and stayed a night at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We went on more great hikes and found a nice waterfall.
And then we headed home. We made it back home for Easter. Though we were tired after a nine-day trip, we celebrated.
