42b. Montgomery, AL to Kokomo, IN; August 10 – 15, 2015

We spent the week in Montgomery at the Homewood Suites.  I learned about environmental law.  Kris and the kids were happy to be at an active duty base.  They went to the base library during the day.  And the commissary.  And the thrift store.  And the parks and swimming pool.

The too quick week flew by.  And it was time to drive home.

Like most people traveling through Tennessee, we stopped at the James K. Polk home.   The tour and review of Polk’s life and home was interesting (mostly to Kris and I as we had listened to the audiobook ‘A Country of Vast Designs’).

The day we spent there, was downright gorgeous.  Kris got lots of good family photos.

We then went home; ready to leave in two days for our next trip to Chicago.

Total days on the road this trip: 8
