In early March I had a work trip to teach a course in Minneapolis. The family geared up and we took off.
We stayed the first night at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Wisconsin Dells. Zach and Anna wanted to try some of the bigger slides we saw, but they weren’t yet big enough.
We drove into Minneapolis and stayed at the Homewood Suites at the Mall of America. We checked in and went to Nickelodeon Universe. We tried a couple of small rides. Zach liked the look of some of the bigger rides, but was a little scared. We also checked out the Lego Store.
Zach got a small Lego set, but had to wait until after dinner to open it. We went to our favorite Minneapolis restaurant, Punch Pizza and got the same pizza that Kris and I got dozens of times when we lived in the Cities.
I worked throughout the week, but we made more trips to Nickelodeon Universe each evening. Each time, the kids tried some of the little kid rides while looking longingly at the big log ride drops.
On our final night, as we were just leaving the amusement park, Zach asked to go back and ride the log ride. We did.
And then Anna tried too!
We stayed in little Tomah, Wisconsin on the way back. We told stories of our roller coaster prowess the whole way.
