64b. Lebanon, NH to Montreal, QC; September 25 – 26, 2016

Sep 25:  We woke early and drove to St. Gaudens National Historic Site in Cornish.  I knew St. Gaudens from my young numismatist days and was eager to see his sculptures.

The morning was cold.  The kids got their Junior Ranger books and we began our tour of he grounds.  The kids set off to find various sculptures.

We toured his studio and everyone picked out their favorite work.

The kids finished their book, got their badges, and we picnicked on the grass.  Kris took some great family photos.

We drove back to our hotel.  We walked out to the grocery store for cereal and candy, played tag on the lawn of our hotel, and went to sleep.

Sep 26:  We woke slowly and drove leisurely back through Vermont.  We detoured through Waterbury, VT to tour the Ben and Jerry’s factory.  We all tried different kinds of ice cream.  I finished off the kids’.  Sick to my stomach, we trudged home.

Total days on the road this trip:  3
